There is definitely something about early morning runs and watching the sun rise. Our local running store has group runs on Saturdays with a variety of different miles and paces. We meet downtown and start at 6 am. I tend to shy away from new situations but hubby pushed me to attend the Women Can Run clinic in the spring (which was a total game changer for me) and I was able to make some friends that go on those runs. I’m okay with doing it that way. I need a buffer at least. 

  
This morning I stumbled out the door without any water and didn’t eat. My half asleep brain thought that I had to be there by 5:30 and I was panicked. Of course I realized my mistake half way there but continued on. My friend and I met and for a brisk 4 mile run. There was a breeze blowing and it felt deceptively wonderful. Once we got started, the humidity set in. Gotta love Arkansas summers. 

  
We made it through with some run/walk intervals and our pace was a decent one. Not the fastest but we are working on it. I’m actually sure that my friend could probably have gone much faster but she was super sweet about going at my pace. I did regret not bringing the water or grabbing a bite to eat before the run but I just call it a lesson learned. Thankfully, one of the nice business men downtown keeps an old school Coke machine stocked with free water and we were able to hydrate at the end of our run. I haven’t figured out what my activity will be tomorrow to make up for the missed day on Wednesday. Maybe a round of hot yoga, I haven’t done that in a while. 

Well, I’m off to do date night with the hubs. I’m so excited! I get to spend some much needed couple time while watching Dark Places and eating his yummy grilled steak!
